Albena restaurant, inside the Siren Hotel on Broadway Street in downtown Detroit, is the lastest eating spot in Metro Detroit to fold.

The restaurant, known for its multi-course chef’s tasting-style menu, will close March 16, owners Tiffany and Garrett Lipar posted on Instagram Tuesday.

Garrett Lipar tells the Free Press that Albena’s space is limited and that they are living within the constraints of a tasting menu and price point.

Lipar tells the publication that overall costs have gone up exponentially in the industry and are a factor in the closing.

“It's made small margins even smaller. We pay way too much for most of everything,” he said. “To bring the best to the guests, that's raised our prices a lot as well through the years.“

Bacco Ristorante, an upscale Italian restaurant on Northwestern Hwy. in Southfield, announced it is closing March 23.
